Bring to a boil, simmer for 3 minutes, remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 60 minutes. Drain, rinse, and drain well. Combine beans and 6 cups water, over a medium heat, crumble bacon into the pot. Add garlic, onions, chili powder, cayenne, and salt. Add stock, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 3-4 hours, until beans begin to fall apart and sauce is well thickened. Serve hot with hot cooked rice.
